Windows 11 (KB5022360) was released with fixes for taskbar search and searchindexer.exe.

Microsoft has released the latest optional non-security cumulative update for Windows 11 (KB5022360), bringing Windows 11 22H2 up to build 22621.1194. The new update fixes an issue that affects searchindexer.exe and also fixes a resource conflict between two or more threads (known as a deadlock) between two or more threads. This update also fixes an issue that affects the image files that you find by using Search on the taskbar. There are also some common bug fixes and known issues to be aware of.

The following are the release highlights for the new KB5022360 update:

• This update fixes an issue that can occur when the Input Method Editor (IME) is enabled.
• The application may stop responding when you use the mouse and the keyboard at the same time.
• This update fixes an issue that may occur when you use the Multi Byte Character Set (MBCS) application to convert or reconvert Japanese kanji. When you type, the cursor may move to the wrong position.
• This update fixes an issue that affects image files that you find by using Search in the taskbar. This issue would prevent you from opening these pictures.
• This update fixes an issue that prevents you from searching for files based on their contents.
• This update fixes an issue that affects certain game controllers. The computer may not enter sleep mode when the game controller is connected to the computer.
