Download Google Chrome v110.0.5481.78

Google has just released the latest stable version of its popular Chrome web browser for Windows, Mac and Linux PC desktop users. The version numbers are Chrome 110.0.5481.77/.78 for Windows and 110.0.5481.77 for Mac and Linux users.

If you have an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3000 or RTX 4000 graphics card in your computer, Chrome 110 adds the previously announced RTX Video Super Resolution feature. By using AI software with the NVIDIA Tensor processor in the RTX 3000 or 4000 graphics card, Chrome 110 users can view videos on YouTube or Netflix at 1080p resolution and watch them at 2160p or 4K. VideoCardz reports that this new feature still requires a new driver to support it. It also needs to be enabled in the NVIDIA control panel.

Some of the other improvements in Chrome 110 include the ability for desktop users to use biometric devices to fill in passwords, while Google Translate settings have been added to Chrome's general settings. The browser's enhanced secure browsing settings have also been improved to check for malware in your browser extensions.

One more small but interesting thing about Chrome 110. This is the first version of Google Chrome that does not officially support Windows 7 or 8.1. Google's support for these two older Microsoft Windows operating systems will end with the release of Chrome 109 in early January 2023.
