Windows 11 LTSC Long Term Support Edition officially announced
While announcing the end of feature updates for Windows 10, stopping at 22H2 (Build 19045), Microsoft has made no secret of its desire for users to upgrade to Win 11 as soon as possible.
Microsoft announced that Windows 11 LTSC (Long-Term Servicing Channel, Long-Term Support Edition) will be available in the second half of 2024, including two SKU versions, Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC and Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC.
Of course, as an Enterprise LTSC, Microsoft's goal is clear - it wants the big enterprise customers to join the Windows 11 update and grow their user base as soon as possible.
The latest LTSC is currently Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, and unlike the Home/Professional edition, which will end all support in October 2025, Win10 LTSC will continue to receive updates until January 2027.
In other words, as the first LTSC release of Win11, it will have a support cycle of up to 5 years, in line with Office LTSC. Extrapolating from this date, it will be based on Win11 version 24H2.
