Dimensity 9200+ coming soon: outperforms Snapdragon 8 Gen2
According to blogger Digital Gossip Station, the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ has an AnTuTu score of over 1.35 million points, surpassing rival Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2, which has an AnTuTu score of around 1.33 million points.
This is MediaTek's most powerful 5G chip to date, using TSMC's 4nm process and consisting of one mega-core, three large cores and four small cores. The mega-core has been upgraded from last year's Cortex-X2 to this year's Cortex-X3, the large core has been upgraded from last year's Cortex-A710 to this year's Cortex- A715, and the small core is the same Cortex- A510.
It is worth noting that all the performance cores of the MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ support pure 64-bit applications. 64-bit allows for greater bandwidth and can improve the efficiency of apps. According to test data given by MediaTek, the multi-threaded 64-bit architecture has a 92% and 80% improvement in compression and decompression for the same tasks compared to the 32-bit architecture.
In addition, the Dimensity 9200+ supports hardware-level ray tracing and variable rate rendering technology, enabling ray tracing soft shadows, ray tracing specular reflections and ray tracing refractions for mobile ray tracing effects.
The chip will be world premiered by iQOO Neo8, the flagship chip used by MediaTek to rival Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen2, and will be released as soon as May.
