The first apple M2 MacBook Air has been unveiled

The MacBook Air with the M2 chip has officially gone on sale, and today the first performance of the product has been revealed.

According to screenshots posted on social media by macOS platform developer Mr. Macintosh, the M2 MacBook Air's Geekbench 5 CPU has a single-core RUN time of 1899 and a multi-core run time of 8965.

For comparison, the previous M2-chip Mac Book Pro's Geekbench 5 CPU scored 1919 single-core and 8928 multi-core.

In other words, the MacBook Air, which also runs on the latest M2 chip, is on par with the Pro in terms of theoretical performance.

Of course, in actual long-term use, the MacBook Pro may have a bigger advantage because of its more sophisticated cooling system.
