Galaxy Z Fold4 rumored to feature slimmer single hinge and improved camera specs

With a more durable design and more affordable pricing strategy than its predecessor, Samsung has established a good reputation in the folding screen smartphone market with the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3. And with summer approaching, Samsung fans are eagerly awaiting what the next generation Galaxy Z Fold4 will bring.

Over the past few months, we've seen contenders like the OPPO Find N and Honor Magic V, while vivo and Google are also actively working on the legendary new folding screen device.

The Galaxy Z Fold3 uses ultra-thin glass (UTG), which significantly enhances the durability of the folding screen and brings a nice stylus interaction experience.

At the same time, the more affordable price has attracted many potential consumers on the fence to try it out. But even so, the Galaxy Z Fold3 is still far from perfect.

First of all, Samsung's flagship folding screen smartphone released last year is too bulky compared to ordinary smartphones. Secondly, the camera experience of the device is not as good as it should be.

Looking ahead to the Galaxy Z Fold4 in 2022, we don't expect it to change much in terms of form factor, but it will address at least two of these pain points.

Interestingly, Anthony broke the news on Twitter that the Galaxy Z Fold4 may be the first to feature a unique single-hinged design to replace the current dual-hinged solution.

If that's the case, the new phone is expected to become even thinner and lighter. Whether it will help improve the durability of the phone remains to be seen.

Another rumor from a few weeks ago said that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will have a built-in stylus storage slot and the form factor is not too different from last year's Galaxy Z Fold3.

As for the camera specs, Galaxy Club has detailed in a report that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will use the same 10MP front-facing selfie camera as the Galaxy S22 series.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold4 is expected to increase the optical zoom performance from 2X to 3X by reducing the pixels of the sensor, and the main camera / ultra wide angle lens is also expected to go up to 50MP / 12MP.
