What should I do if I have a problem with my USB stick? Try these 3 methods
The USB stick is an important way for many partners to carry their work and exchange data. If, after inserting the USB stick, the computer does not react at all or cannot read the data, this is a really sad situation. How do we get it back to normal? Come and try these tricks with me.
Does the USB port work?
Some USB flash drives do not respond when inserted into the computer, this is because the USB interface is working in a problematic state, then right click on the Win icon (bottom left corner) and select Device Manager, find "Universal Serial Bus Controller" and click to open the drop down list.
Locate the USB controller, usually a USB Composite Device or USB Mass Storage Device, right-click to bring up a pop-up menu and select Uninstall Device. Then unplug the USB drive from the USB port and plug it back in, the system will reinstall the driver and the problem will usually be solved.
The USB stick inserted into the computer is not responding, it could also be that the USB controller on the motherboard is not working at all! Some older computers have a USB switch option in the BIOS, in this case, boot up and press the command prompt (F2 or Del) to enter the BIOS Setup (sometimes abbreviated as Setup), find the Advanced item (usually below this one), find the USB-related settings, change them to Enable, then save and exit and reboot. (under the Save and Exit item) and reboot.
There's also a category of cases where it just won't work when you plug it in and it gives you an error, or even keeps giving you an error. This is most likely due to insufficient power to the USB ports - and is mainly concentrated on the front panel USB port and the one connected to the USB hub. The best thing to do in this case is to use the USB port on the back of the case, or try plugging the USB drive directly into the computer without using the USB hub, and you should be fine. If it's a laptop that doesn't have enough USB ports to begin with, there's really nothing you can do about it ......
If this does not solve the problem, you can still try to recover the data using professional tools, but it will be difficult to recover the data from the USB stick.
