QLED and OLED which is good (QLED and OLED differences and their respective characteristics)

Many users do not know which is better QLED and OLED, QLED and OLED are two of our common LCD screen technologies, each with its advantages, disadvantages and also its representative manufacturers and roles. Today, we will talk about the differences between QLED and OLED and their respective characteristics.

QLED screen

Strictly speaking, QLED is not a screen, it should be called QLED quantum dot technology, which is a type of LED screen. The structure of QLED is very similar to OLED technology, the main difference is that the light emitting centre of QLED is made of quantum dot material, the structure of which is the convergence of electrons and holes on both sides in the quantum dot layer to form excitons, and through the reorganisation of excitons to emit light.

Advantages: the backlight substrate is still made of lamp beads and has a long service life; the QLED quantum dot film brings better colour accuracy and colour capacity, allowing the colour gamut value of the screen to easily reach over 110%.

Disadvantages: Although it uses quantum dot film, it does not really break through the hardware limitations of LCD TVs and is the biggest of the small. In terms of picture quality, it can compete with LCD and LED, but when it comes to the OLED screen, it is unbeatable.

OLED screen

Currently recognised as a masterpiece of image quality, also known as electromechanical laser display, organic light-emitting semiconductor; self-luminous light source design allows the screen to take advantage of the image quality, in terms of contrast, colour saturation, etc. are truly first-class level; however, the real advantage of OLED technology can be brought into play, still mainly AMOLED applications.

The advantages: Each pixel dot can be approximated to a single beam of light, so the contrast ratio of OLED screens is almost infinite. Each pixel can work individually, so the most extreme blacks can be reproduced, but the power consumption is also better.

Disadvantages: not bright enough, short lifespan. Firstly, the OLED screen itself has a relatively low peak brightness and an algorithm that automatically limits the brightness. When the area of the high-light scenes is more than 25% of the total screen area, the screen brightness is automatically reduced, which greatly affects the viewing experience. The life of the OLED screen is around 30,000 hours, after which it is easy to burn the screen.
