Ejecting USB peripherals with a batch process is tedious!
Although the external USB device is plug and play, which is very convenient, there are still a number of steps you need to take before you can 'unplug' it.
Firstly, you have to move your mouse to the bottom right-hand corner, click on the USB stick icon and select 'Eject'. These three steps are too much for me, who suffers from tendonitis, frozen shoulder and lazy disease.
So the simplest solution I can think of is to create a desktop shortcut that can be double-clicked to automatically pop up a USB stick, which is much easier than "swiping + clicking" with the mouse.
To do this, right-click on the desktop and select "New Shortcut", then type:
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll
That's fine, but it's up to you to name it and give it a logo and icon. In the future, you can use this to pop up any external device, it's that simple.
