ASUS’ first ROG Ally handheld key configuration confirmed
Back on April Fool's Day, ASUS ROG announced its first handheld, the Ally, but this is no joke and it is indeed a new product.
According to VideoCardz, the ROG Ally has two product codes, RC71L and RC71X, which means that the product is already being certified.
The information shows that the ROG Ally is powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 7840U with 16GB of RAM. Officially, this SOC is a custom chip, with the possibility of some modifications in certain areas based on the prototype model.
The new processor is said to be based on the Zen 4 architecture with a base frequency of 3.3GHz, the GPU part is based on the RDNA 3 architecture, manufactured on a 4nm process, has 8 cores and 16 threads, 768 stream processors and is said to offer 50% more performance than the Steam Deck at 15W and twice as much at 35W.
The ROG Ally is also slightly smaller than the Steam Deck, but has a 7-inch screen with 1080p resolution and an increased refresh rate of 120Hz, with a 5ms response time and 500 nits of brightness.
